Cristina Martinez-Thompson is a Senior Attorney who brings 19 years of Workers’ Compensation experience to MSKW. Prior to joining MSKW, Mrs. Martinez-Thompson acquired a vast amount of knowledge and experience as In-House Counsel for a major insurance company during her 14-year tenure. She represented employers and insurers in all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation including case analysis, depositions, hearings, trials, cross-examination of medical experts, and settlement. Prior to defense work, Mrs. Martinez-Thompson represented injured workers and took cases as far as necessary to obtain compensation for her clients.


Mrs. Martinez-Thompson received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She received her Juris Doctorate Degree from Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa. During law school, Mrs. Martinez-Thompson interned at the Orange County District Attorney's Office where she analyzed evidence in felony cases as well as identified witnesses to testify at trial. She assisted the prosecutors with developing legal theories for trial and provided memos on legal research issues.


While in law school, Mrs. Martinez-Thompson attended the Summer Study Abroad Program in Spain. This opportunity brought personal growth, intercultural skills, and enhanced academic experience.

For the past 20 years, Mrs. Martinez-Thompson has also volunteered her time and currently serves as a Board of Directors Member for a Foster Family Agency.


Mrs. Martinez-Thompson prioritizes creating a balance between career and family. She and her husband stay quite busy raising a teenaged girl, tweenaged boy, as well as a 2-year-old German Shepherd/Golden Doodle fur baby named Charlie. On weeknights and weekends, you can find Mrs. Martinez-Thompson at the volleyball or basketball court, on the track, or on the football field.

She enjoys shopping, binge-watching murder mystery documentaries, baking with her daughter or making Sephora runs, making Panda Express runs with her son, and strives to maintain interest in her husband’s Netflix shows.
